The messages from God recited to Muhammad by the Angel Gabriel would later become THE BOOK, the Holy Quran (Word of God), and spawn the religion of Islam that today has more than 1.6 billion Muslim followers worldwide.
'Islam' first and foremost is a religion of 'peace'. Islam is a religion of faith in Almighty God, the one 'True God' who is common to all Three One-God Religions including: Judaism, Christianity and Islam. In fact, many of the Divine Messengers common to the Jewish Torah and the Christian Gospel including Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses and Jesus are also spoken about in the Holy Quran.
