Malek Fahd Islamic School

We are one of the largest schools in Australia.  Our school has been using Haset Sali’s translation The Holy Quran Simply (2004) as a text in the senior years of the school for a year now.

The book is written in “plain” English and so the students enjoy studying it.  We have found that the text integrates beautifully Islamic Studies, values education, and civics and citizenship education.

In the Preface to the book, Sali gives the big picture of Islam: 

(i)    The gift of Life, our Spirit, our Soul;
(ii)   The gift of Freedom; and
(iii)  The gift of Responsibility, Obligations and Power. 

The book also makes it clear that with Judaism and Christianity, Islam is of Abrahamic tradition, and students are able to appreciate the similarities in religious beliefs.

We recommend the book highly to students of Religious Studies.
